Why we exist

The grid wasn’t inevitable. It isn’t permanent.

We expose surveillance systems, follow where the information goes, challenge weak laws, and fight to shrink the infrastructure tracking people suspected of nothing.

The focus is institutional power: systems, government policy, laws, contracts, retention, data sharing, vendor relationships, and surveillance scale. Citizens Sentry does not harass or target individual officials.

What we fight

Movement

ALPR and location tracking

Systems that turn routine movement into searchable history.

Identification

Faces, biometrics, and AI

Tools that scale persistent identification and interpretation of people in public life.

Infrastructure

Cameras, brokers, and government access

Networked collection and commercial data that allow surveillance power to spread quietly.

How we work

Investigate → Demonstrate → Expose → Challenge

01

Investigate the system

Map capability, scale, ownership, cost, authority, and data flow.

02

Demonstrate the power

Make surveillance capability visible through bounded, lawful, privacy-protective demonstrations.

03

Expose the consequences

Show how collection, access, retention, sharing, sale, and government acquisition affect ordinary people.

04

Challenge the rules

Demand necessity, proportionality, strong legal process, audits, limits, sunsets, and less surveillance.

Privacy is the default.
Surveillance is the exception.
